An intraoral camera is a small digital camera that allows Dr. Roderick to get clear and very detailed pictures of your teeth during your visit. The device combines a small camera with small LED lights and can be positioned in a variety of ways to help us get the right picture of your teeth. We use the Gendex GXC-300 Intraoral Camera.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
There are certainly times when you visit us and you do not have any pain or discomfort. However there can still be dental problems that we need to treat. With our intraoral camera we can show you exactly what the issue is. In addition, we can take before and after pictures to show you the difference. We can use this to show you gum disease, cracked fillings and other issues.
Using the intraoral camera helps us reduce the amount of time you have to spend in the exam room. Since we can quickly take detailed pictures of teeth that require attention we can more accurately diagnose any issues and quickly conduct treatment on the specific area. Plus, it helps us communicate with you and educate you about your options for treatment and to see the results.
