We use a digital x-ray system from Air Techniques called ScanX. This system makes it much faster and more comfortable for you when we take X-rays of your mouth. In fact, a full mouth series of x-rays can take less than 2 minutes! With the traditional film process that could take 10 minutes or more. The process is similar in that we insert senors into your mouth and then take pictures using low radiation x-rays. As soon as the X-ray is taken the image can be seen on a computer screen where Dr. Roderick and the team can review it with you.
The Benefits of Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays use up to 90 percent less radiation than film. While conventional dental X-rays are relatively safe, digital radiography is an excellent option for those who take X-rays on a regular basis or for those who are concerned about radiation.
Shorter Dental Appointments
There is no waiting time to develop film with digital X-rays making it much faster for Dr. Roderick to see what is going on and show you the images.
Higher Quality Images
Our digital X-rays are just like pictures you take with your phone in that we can zoom in to see fine details, pan around to different teeth and share the images or print them for you.
NO chemicals are used to develop film and no containers, boxes and storage required.
