The body will adapt and handle things until it’s too late. And unfortunately that’s when we get pain. That’s when people have heart problems or they break a hip.
But it’s been going on for years and years and years and dentistry is no different. Things can be going on for a long time before the body actually gives you pain or symptoms. So the earlier intervention is always better as far as less time to take care of something less tooth removal or destruction or gum destruction and less on the pocket book too.
If we catch things earlier. So that’s why regular visits are so important, especially now that we know how much connection there is to the health of your mouth and the rest of your body, even more important than, than ever. We keep bacterial levels down, which is what regular visits will do.
Then everything’s going to last longer and it’s going to stay looking better longer. Meaning gums don’t lose their color and everything stays vibrant with restorations or cosmetic work. But I think the biggest thing, it just adds longevity to them and it’ll help them last longer.
One of the best things about us is everything is one-on-one. So that your time is only your time and not three or four others at the same time as far as patients go. But we’re going to, you know, do a full evaluation around the mouth.
Occasionally we’ll need to take some x-rays to look at places we can’t see but we’ll do an oral cancer exam as well as a bite exam and then a gum exam, you know, at every visit to ensure we’re catching. If there is any concerns or any problems, things are early and not later. We kind of either give them a few things to work on or some concerns that we have going forward to come back, but then they don’t leave without an appointment either is our goal.
Especially for a maintenance or, or recare is that they’re scheduled while they’re here and that whether it be three, four, six months out. So they don’t lose track of that time and then multiple reminders from the one visit to the next to help them remember as well. Don’t waste any more time.
I mean, like I said, things when they start to feel or hurt are usually much bigger problems. So even if you’re not experiencing that and it’s been time there’s no judgments here. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been.
I’ve seen it all. You won’t surprise me. Take that first step, come in.
And I think you’re going to see a different experience than maybe what’s kept you away from before. You know, their bad experience or just something didn’t go right in the dental office prior. I think you’re going to see a different level of care and a different level of patient experience.
